Den building, minibeast hunts and pond dipping were just some of the adventures our young explorers got up up to during their recent school trip.

Park Road Community Primary School Year 2 children visited Fox Howl in Delamere and got the chance to take part in a number of different activities during the day.

Armed with twigs, branches, and leaves, the pupils worked together to create den hideaways among the trees of Fox Howl. They also went in search of the forest’s smallest inhabitants, as part of a minibeast hunt.

A highlight of the trip was pond dipping and a chance to play in the stream.

Year 2 teacher Kathryn Quigley said: “We all had great fun getting out and about in the forest. The children really enjoyed finding all the different mini beast and seeing what they can find in the streams. What a great trip Year 2!”
